My biggest problem with death is that you don’t get to see how everything turns out.  It’s like reading a good mystery novel and missing the last several chapters.  On the whole I gotta say that I disapprove of this whole death thing.

“For me, to remember friendship is to recall those conversations that it seemed a sin to break off: the ones that made the sacrifice of the following day a trivial one.” Christopher Hitchens, Mortality (via quotes-shape-us)

“Death and EMS” I am no stranger to death on both a personal and professional level. I can walk into someone’s home, find them pulseless on the ground, give it my all, and not think about it again. It’s what I signed up for. What gets me every time, though, is when a person is dying, but awake and talking to you. It’s the look in their eyes. The fear on their face. It’s when they say, “I’m not ready to go. I don’t want to die. Please don’t let me die.” Gets me every fucking time. I hate seeing people so scared before they die. I’d rather get hit by a train then go out like that. (via thechickenmedic)

“One of the tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon - instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.” Dale Carnegie (via mylittlebookofquotes)

"tea is just leaf water!" "yeah well coffee is just bean water!" wow, it’s. it’s like everything is made of things. this door is just wood rectangle. this poster is just ink paper. this lemonade is just lemon water. wow, it’s like you can combine ingredients to make things that are more enjoyable than the initial parts of the equation. sure is a magical world we live in
